In the first three months of this year, visitor numbers to the largest national park in Croatia – Plitvice Lakes had increased by more than 50% compared with the same period last year !
Plitvice lakes is oldest national park in Southeast Europe. Despite a bad weather during Easter weekend, Plitvice Lakes was filled with tourists from all over the world. There are fewer Europeans amongst the visitors and more arriving from Asia.
Accommodation at the National Park this Easter weekend was at over 86% capacity, which suggests this National Park could be in for its best ever year.
Big surprise is that a lot more tourists are also making their way to the famous park outside the peak season.
Great start in this year…
